Russian Colony of Alexandrovka

Back to tour

A piece of Russia in the middle of Prussia! And indeed the story of the Colony of Alexandrovka forms a significant chapter in the history of the relations between Prussia and Russia. This enclave to the north of Potsdam city centre was founded in 1826 by King Frederick William III of Prussia in honour of Tsar Alexander I, who had died the previous year.
