Barracks for Married Grenadiers (Lindenstraße 28-30)

Back to tour

Historical buildings adorn the rest of Lindenstraße as well. You will now see an interesting example, the Barracks for Married Grenadiers on the left side of the street.

Potsdam was at the same time both a royal city and a garrison city and thus included a variety of military barracks - a fact which made the famous Berlin naturalist Alexander von Humboldt call Potsdam a "desolate barracks town".
