Henning-von-Tresckow-Straße 1 to 8

Back to tour

The western end of Henning-von-Tresckow-Straße also includes historical buildings.
A factory stood right on this spot where the street Henning-von-Tresckow-Straße met the former Potsdam City Canal in the 18th century. In 1722, Frederick William I ordered the construction of a complex of simple two-story half-timbered houses for the manufacture of guns. Expert craftsmen were brought to Potsdam from all over Europe, the majority coming from the Catholic area of Lüttich. The first Catholic church in Potsdam was built for them right on the factory grounds.
