Barracks for Regiment Prinz Heinrich (Lindenstr. 35-39)

Back to tour

Across the street on the other side, another barracks went from Lindenstraße 35 to 39. Around 1764 Heinrich Ludwig Manger constructed a barracks at this site next to the Great Orphanage for the "Regiment Prinz Heinrich", a detachment commanded by the younger brother of Frederick II, the Prince of Prussia. There had been a previous barracks at this spot: Seven buildings were demolished in order to make room for five new and more massive barracks.
